SGBotic EduFun Buggy for Micro:bit is designed for learning basic robotics using BBC Micro:bit and MakeCode graphical programming. Although this kit is targeted for beginners with no prior robotic experience, experienced users will find it useful and fun too.

The kit includes all parts required to drive the buggy, and sensors for advanced applications such as line following and obstacle avoidance. It also includes a Micro:bit Robot Board that has dedicated connectors for both HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor and line follower sensor to simplify the wire connection.

The EduFun Buggy is expandable. The Micro:bit Robot Board gives access to all the I/O pins at the bottom edge of the BBC micro:bit and has dedicated port for I2C connection. You can easily expand its functionality by adding sensors or widgets. The injection moulded chassis plate has mounting holes and slots for other hardware, and can be easily cut or drilled.

No soldering is required for all parts in this kit.

To help you get started, we provided an online User Guide (click link in Documents below). The guide contains photos and step-by-step instructions on hardware assembly, wiring, installation of Robot Board extensions, as well as five projects for you to work on:

  • Project 1: Moving The Buggy
  • Project 2: Reading Data From Ultrasonic Sensor
  • Project 3: Reading Data From Line Follower Array
  • Project 4: Building An Obstacle Avoidance Robot
  • Project 5: Building A Line Follower Robot

NOTE: BBC Micro:bit, USB micro-B cable and AA size Alkaline batteries are not included in this kit.
