This ubit:connect Interfacing Board is specially designed for BBC micro:bit developer. It offers an easy way to connect sensors, actuators and other circuits to the micro:bit. The board comes with an 0.91" OLED display. Together with SGBotic's customised makecode package, this OLED display allows developer to display sensor data or UI information. Comparing to micro:bit's LED matrix, the message on OLED display is easier to read, and can display more information. The delay to print data on the OLED display is also negligible, allowing the user program to print the data and move to next process immediately instead of waiting for the LED matrix to finish scrolling.

The ubit:connect gives access to all the I/O pins on the bottom edge of the BBC micro:bit. All of the pins have been broken out, allowing access to I/O lines, button A / B, LED matrix, SPI and I2C bus. Separate pin headers are provided for I2C bus at the bottom of the board for easy identification and connection. For those who prefer using crocodile clips, five ring connectors are provided at the edge of the board.

Both female sockets and male headers are provided for I/O strip, 3V supply, ground and I2C bus to provide better compatibility to male/female jumper wires. There is no need for you to convert the male pin jumper wire to female pin jumper wire or via versa. What a convenience!

We also incorporated a MOSFET driver into the ubit:connect. This driver is designed to drive high current load up to 600mA and is PWM compatible. You can use it to drive LED strip, water pump, motor, etc. The driver takes power directly from Vin and is linked to pin 16.

A customised makecode package has been developed to go with this board.
